Introducing Rob Bollard, our new Head of Brewing Operations

ree

My name is Rob Bollard. Six months ago, I joined Nod Hill Brewery as Head of Brewing Operations after nearly a decade at Kent Falls Brewing, where I worked across sales, self-distribution, brewing, and management. For six and a half years, I served as Head Brewer — there’s a good chance you’ve tasted some of the recipes I developed, as many are still being produced today.

When I was approached by Nod Hill, I was at a crossroads. I had fully formed plans to launch my own brewery with investor backing but was still in need of the right location. After many discussions, we reached an agreement to merge Nod Hill’s strong foundation with my approach to operating at a world-class level. Together, we’re putting quality first while preparing for growth.

We’re in an exciting renovation phase: optimizing tank layouts, implementing a custom-designed water system, improving our packaging line, and — after an inspiring trip to Germany — placing a deposit on a fully automated brewhouse. These investments will allow us to brew with greater efficiency, precision, and consistency.

What drew me to Nod Hill is its culture. The team has built an exceptional taproom experience, is deeply rooted in the community, and values both its employees and customers. It’s refreshing to be part of a company that supports my vision and encourages me to continue pushing creativity. Once renovations are complete, I’ll also be launching a small, high-quality brand of my own alongside Nod Hill — limited distribution, meticulously crafted beers designed to complement what Nod Hill already does so well.

Taking over the creative side of an established portfolio is always a challenge, but over the past six months we’ve rebuilt the production team, restructured scheduling, and begun reworking recipes with deeper focus on ingredient sourcing and refined brewing techniques. The results are already showing, and I’m excited to share what’s coming next.

Please keep an eye out for new releases and refreshed flagships. I’m proud of what the team has accomplished so far and even more excited for what’s ahead. I look forward to building new relationships through Nod Hill and as always, I promise to deliver beer with quality and consistency at the highest level.

I look forward to meeting you in the Taproom sometime!

Cheers,

Rob Bollard
